LeRockBox Radio presents… The Lounge
This past sunday, we at LeRockBox Radio premiered our experimental new show, “The Lounge”. The Lounge is our take on a talk show. The show is designed to take subjects from current events, music, popular culture, and relationships, open up the floor for conversation and learn from one another’s feedback. Trailer: The Res Documentary
Res is a wildly talented soul rock singer released her major label debut (“How I Do”) in 2001. The album’s single “They Say Vision” was a Top 40 hit and went number 1 on the dance charts. Other singles like “Golden Boys” and “Ice King” all received radio play.
Res completed work on her second album (“Black Girls Rock!”) planned for a 2004-2005 release and started playing those songs live. After some label shakeups the album would ultimately be shelved. Res broke away from her label and went independent working on new music with Talib Kweli that would later morph into their side project Idle Warship.
Res officially moved back to Philly and started creating new music around Philly and New York City. At times Res thought about giving up the dream and living a “normal life” but she stayed determined and has two new releases coming soon. An EP of Fleetwood Mac covers called “ReFried Mac” and her third solo CD.
