KANYE WEST & SPIKE JONZE PREMIERE SHORT FILM AT LA FILM FESTIVAL
via TBB: It’s true, Kanye West is influenced by many different sources, including filmmaker Spike Jonze (‘Where The Wild Things Are,’ ‘Adaptation’) who he tapped to direct the music videos for ‘Flashing Lights’ and "See You In My Nightmares.’ West has seemingly returned the favor by lending his acting talents to Jonze’s short film ‘We Were Once A Fairytale," which made its debut this week at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The film is said to include a N.A.S.A. remix version of ‘See You In My Nightmares,’ but according to a report by The Daily Swarm, that’s probably the most civilized aspect viewers received. Supposedly the film is Jonze’s homage to "what people love and hate about Kanye’s persona and pushes it into a trippy realm." What exactly does "trippy" mean in this case? Try vomiting rose petals, West cutting himself with a bowie knife, and a demon rodent emerging from his stomach — of which said demon rodent is offered a miniature bowie knife for which it can commit suicide. Details about the project were first revealed this past March through an interview with Jonze’s producing pal Vincent Landay who admitted that the project was shot in January over the course of two days. No word yet if actual rodents were used but it’s suffice to say that we’re simultaneously scared and overjoyed at the possibility of seeing Kanye perform a rodent-ectomy on himself. |
